Had to be towed. Flustered. Took my it to pacific motor nearby - forgot why we stopped going there. Ridiculously expensive charged $220 to read out something and tell me to tow it to the dealer. Felt like $220 was inappropriately expensive for a 5 min task where there was no possibility of using that as a start of an estimate. People are cordial but cost was issue.
Hello Megan, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate all feedback. I understand you are frustrated with the situation. The $220.00 you agreed to pay was for the time and technology we took to discover the root cause of your issue. We were able to find a problem that happened to relate to a safety condition that is covered under the dealership's recall system. One they are obligated to repair at no cost. Had we wanted to take advantage of you, we would have simply received your approval for the repair, which likely would have cost in excess of $1,000.00 and sent you on your way. As it stands, our goal is to take care of our clients with complete, transparent information and to do our best to make all repairs and inspections as inexpensive as possible. As I recall, we have dealt with you and your husband on several occasions and we seem to get this sort of response from you each time. You are a recalcitrant client and typically refuse to understand (or appreciate) our level of service. On one occasion, 12+ years ago your husband verbally abused me for over an hour while he listened patiently to his shouting and threatening monologue because he couldn't understand the details related to a clutch repair. Additionally, your last visit here was over 10 years ago and at that time we asked you to choose another shop for any future needs. That said, I can completely understand why you decided to have your vehicle towed to Pacific Motor Service again, as we are a AAA Top Shop award winner, the Monterey Herald's Readers' Choice, as well as being voted Monterey County's Finest Auto Repair shop n in 2022. Our work is excellent and our customer service world class. We aim to have the most transparent communication possible, and we stand by our work with a nationwide warranty up to 3 year/36,000 miles. I am afraid, as we have discovered in that past, that we are not the shop for you. I believe this may be a case of "no good deed goes unpunished", and would be willing to bet your are unhappy with the majority of your service oriented experiences. Thank you for the opportunity to explain our side of your story, and help others understand a little more about our willingness to interact in a professional way.
