I feel safe and supported with Pacific Motor Service. I have a 2005 Prius with over 200k miles. At each oil change, they do a full check of the car and let me know if there’s anything urgent or on the horizon in terms of maintenance and safety. They are thorough and always check if I have any questions. I never feel rushed or pressured into anything.

Start to finish, this is a Five Star organization. From the phone call to arrange service to the explanation of the work to be done to the ride to my destination, everything is done with respect and concern for your satisfaction. The people and the quality of service is the best I've received in my 40+ years on the Peninsula.

Our front office staff (Rory and Beatrice) are second to none and our technical staff (Michael, Dailey and Gabriel) are among the best techs on the peninsula. Our Monterey staff's quality is only rivalled by the gentleman in our Pacific Grove location!!

Rory completely understood the importance to our company of not having a work truck out of service for too long. They were able to diagnose the problem, quote the repair, and finish the job all in six hours on the same day. Super appreciated.

I have been coming here for about 2 years now, and they have always treated me with respect and have taken care of my vehicles in a timely manner and with fair pricing. The two who run the front counter are masters of hospitality and I highly recommend anyone looking for a new shop to come here!

Our family is not local to the Monterey Bay area but with my daughter being a student at the university and experiencing some car issues we needed to find a repair shop quickly. We are so grateful to have found Pacific Motor Service. They were extremely accommodating, professional and very pleasant to deal with. A thorough job and great customer service are definitely their objectives, not to mention they guarantee their work.

To be fair I am not familiar with the cost of living in these parts and Pacific Motor Services did good work... But my sticker shock left me open mouthed. Almost $900 labor cost for a max 2 hr job. I should have put off this elective pump replacement til my travels brought me to less stratospheric cost-of-living

Hello Frank, Thank you for leaving us a review. The cost of living is definitely a consideration and a big part of being on the Monterey Peninsula. We are in one of the top two or three most expensive areas to live in the United States. The elective surgery you performed on your Prius, a water pump and thermostat was a job you requested us to do in the spirit of preventative maintenance, so could have been done elsewhere at a later date. That said, the labor performed was far more than two hours which explains the cost of labor. I hope you understand these rates are not atypical for this area. Your Prius is safe and reliable and the water pump will last the rest off the life of the vehicle, so please rest assured, the service you requested will extend the life of the vehicle.
